Smart Weddings ~
I loved talking with husband and wife psychology team Judith Sherven and James Sniechowski, authors of The Smart Couple’s Guide to the Wedding of Your Dreams: Planning Together for Less Stress and More Joy (www.smartweddingcouples.com).Â
It was so refreshing to talk about weddings in a different light - one that includes the groom and the marriage! As many of you know, it is usually the bride that plans the wedding and the groom just shows up. And many decisions aren’t made as a team, especially the financial ones which often cause debt for years to come (the average wedding is $26,000).
If you are planning a wedding or have friends that are, get their book (you can go on their website and order it) to learn great ways that you can make the wedding memorable and special, without the stress, while keeping all the joy!
Life is always better when we Make Good Choices ~
The Times Herald-Record hosted a wonderful and helpful forum last night on their series Not One More: Ending the fatalities of teen driving on our roads. There was such an interest and heavy turnout by local parents and teens that they had to turn many away, and scheduling another one in the coming future. One of the most important messages of the night was that distractions such as music, cell phone and other teens in the car, were the major cause - not drugs and alcohol. Of course speed is one of the most important factors, but inexperience and distractions are what we are losing our kids to. Important information. I had already planned to be doing a show on this and I will post the date.
