February is Heart Health Awareness Month -and don’t forget Valentine’s Day!

February 13th, 2008

We often hear about men and heart attacks - you know -  a bit overweight, high blood pressure, no exercise, eats junk food and he is a heart attack waiting to happen. But women and heart disease? Not much chance, right? Well that is what I always thought, but I am wrong and so are you if that is what you thought. I don’t know why we are at risk, what that means and what we need to be aware of. Today we will find out. It is Heart Awareness Month and we are having Heart Health Day from 1-2.

Joining me will be cardiologist Dr. Marc Eisenberg from Columbia Eastside in NYC explaining  what we need to know and telling us about Sister-to-Sister, which is a Women’s Heart Health Fair this Friday Feb. 15 at Madison Square Garden hosted by Donna Hanover, Debra Roberts, Emme and others (www.sistertosister.org). There you can get free screenings and talk to others about this - but first you need to listen today from 1-2 to learn more.

Writer and former television host, Erika Lenkert author of, The Last- Minute Party Girl, will join me to tell us how to keep the heart in your love life this Valentine’s Day (yes, it is tomorrow) with some Fun and inventive ideas you really don’t want to miss. Really! So join me today to learn how you can keep your heart and love life healthy so you can continue to make good choices ~
