Marriage and Money

May 21st, 2008

I don’t have to tell you that times are tough. We hear that often and hopefully they aren’t for you. But if they are, it is stressful on your marriage. Financial issues are the number one reason for anger and fights in your marriage, which many of us know first hand. But how about the kids? What do they need to know about what is going on? Should we shield them or include them?

Dr. Stephen Frueh (www.stephenfrueh.com) will be my guest today talking about this and other subjects of marriage. Is marriage really good for us? Does it allow us to grow or is it holding us back? Are you happy or in a marginal marriage? Would divorce be better or is the grass really not so green on the other side?
Listen in today while we discuss these subjects about marriage and learn what you need need to know to make your marriage better so you can make good choices for yourself and your family ~

Cornell’s Parenting Programs

May 14th, 2008

Like many of you I have heard about the numerous programs at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County (www.cce.cornell.edu/orange) and I have been told how wonderful they are. But truthfully I was never exactly sure what they did and what programs they had to offer. Well today, we are going to find out! Joining me will be Denise Variano who will talk about all the parenting programs (Discipline, Living with your Teen, School Success, and others) at Cornell Cooperative. Many of these programs are held at schools around the area. She will also explain to us all the they do over there - which is so much.

I am looking forward to talking with her and hearing about the programs that can make the community - and all the families who live here - better, and aid us all in making good choices ~
