Kids, including mine, love her books. My daughter read a few of her books two years ago and still talks about them. She has a way with children - of all ages - as she understands them instinctually. As a teacher and an author her new book Eleven also deals with reading disabled children and explores what it is like for them.  It is a suspenseful mystery, which is not always her genre, and one that keeps kids glued to the book.  One of her books, Pictures of Hollis Woods was made into a movie with Sissy Spacek.
